sorry i am not be able to reproduce it and not find any single dup in
the empathy bugs.. can you please update your system and check this
again.i have installed gnome-shell and checked but not e ale to
reproduce it.

I have this problem too with oneiric and with precise and with 3.3.4 (from rico
ppa). The bug is reproducible (now it happens on my two machines). I dont know
how its happens but after some time empathy freezes and i cannot open any
windows.
In my machine this are the steps to reproduce:
