I downgraded xorg-server-core to 2:1.10.4-1ubuntu4.2 and then pinned it back. Everything works well now, but obviously this needs to be fixed. Here's the steps for anyone else experiencing this problem. Install aptitude if you don't already have it. aptitude install

The keyboard works fine. Using another mouse doesn't affect anything. I can't use that comment as I don't have a gui on my laptop, so I can't open a browser. When I try to open that page on my laptop (logged in as me), I get Not allowed here Sorry, you don't have permission to access this page.
