Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: kubuntu-live

Tried several times to get Kubuntu feisty herd-5 live cd to load on my
HP NX9420 laptop so I could install it to hard drive. came to a blank
screen a few lines after the initialization of network interfaces and
initializing 3945abg wireless card. could type things into this blank
screen (which has no observable effect) but couldn't change run levels
or restart X with ctrl-alt-bkspce. when i pressed the wireless button
on my laptop, gave message to the effect of the wireless network device
being turned off and on. laptop is core duo t2300 with 512mb RAM, ati
x1600 and 1600x1050 resolution with synaptic touchpad. i've installed
ubuntu and kubuntu 6.10 on this computer with no problems, although that
was with the stock monitor with resolution of 1440x900. however, after
replacing that with the new monitor, the previously installed ubuntu
6.10 and kubuntu 6.10 ran fine.

--Just wanted to add that the MD5 sum checked out and the CD also
checked itself after burning and worked fine, and I experienced these
problems immediately after burning it, so I can say that the disk wasn't
mishandled or caused an error upon.

** Affects: kubuntu-meta (Ubuntu)
     Importance: Undecided
         Status: Unconfirmed
