Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: evms

I'm not sure what caused this, but at some point my working Ubuntu edgy
install with EVMS for root stopped booting properly. When I boot,
checkfs dies as my RAID5 devices have been discovered by evms as
/dev/evms/md/md0 and so on. These devices are not mountable, so it's not
a case of the volume being named differently. Disabling the init.d
script allows the system to boot properly.

When I break into a shell during local-top in initramfs, all devices are
properly discovered.

The init.d script seems pretty simple (just calling evms_activate), but
I suppose it's possible that it's somehow conflicting with the lvm or
mdadm packages installed on the system.

** Affects: evms (Ubuntu)
     Importance: Undecided
         Status: Unconfirmed
