THis is still an issue in post Beta release. I still dont get
applications in ALT+TAB which are not pinned. notable of them are
virtualbox and gnome-terminal

confirmed, and this seems like a recent regression in precise.
flipping to a different workspace and then back will make the app get
filled-in arrows on the launcher, and it will appear in the alt-tab
switcher.
