Thank you for your help but it isnt resolved. After running the first line (sudo apt-get install -f) it returns an error: Errors were encountered while processing: linux-image-2.6.38-13-generic gconf2 evince update-manager E: Sub-process /usr/bin/dpkg returned an error code (1) ** Changed

I seriously doubt its a hardware problem, if this is the solution then why is Windows (which also runs on this netbook) still running like sunshine, never had any issues with it. I know how to install Ubuntu and I can take the time to fix issues but if this is your final answer I am gonna trow
