This does not seem to be a problem with all apps, but I am seeing it in
particular with Firefox.
To replicate:
Open Firefox
Open the HUD and type preferences, Edit Preferences is *not* shown.
In firefox click on the Edit menu (no need to do more than open the menu)
Re-open the HUD and type
