Now that qtoctave has been removed, and is not in the latest 16.04 LTS release, I'm going to call this unfixable and invalid. Upstream for qtoctave is nonexistent, the project is no longer supported in Ubuntu, there's no point in leaving this open to be fixed in old LTS versions only. ** Changed

I can confirm this crash in the current stable version of Ubuntu (15.04). However, qtoctave is marked as deprecated because it hasn't been maintained for a long time, and Octave now includes its own native GUI. Anyone affected by this bug would be better off using the current stable version of
