As described in bug 676453, the Launcher icon is supposed to fill up as
the installation completes. This would make clear that the app is not
launchable yet.
Even if it didn't, launching Ubuntu Software Center to its screen for
the app would not be useful in this case. There's nothing useful to

I've subscribed MPT to the bug since he wrote the design spec on this
change:

it should not auto launch apps, it should follow same behavior from drag
and drop. bug: 732526
if the installation takes several minutes i dont want it to interrupt
(or even mess up) the task am currently doing.
