Dave Gilbert, this bug was reported a while ago and there hasn't been
any activity in it recently. We were wondering if this is still an
issue? If so, could you please test for this with the latest development

I found a work-around that makes xorg recognize the 1366x768 resolution:
Add this line to your Device section in xorg.conf:
Option ModeValidation NoWidthAlignmentCheck, NoDFPNativeResolutionCheck

On my older PC I have Nvidia 7600 GT connected to some really old LG 17
inch CRT monitor @ 1024x768 res and I was fairly happy using ubuntu
Status changed to 'Confirmed' because the bug affects multiple users.
