Messelink's suggestion solved my problem, altough I was trying to eject internal DVDRW/CDRW drive. Steps: 1. 'sudo eject /dev/sr0' (error) 2. 'file /dev/sr0' ('block special') 3. 'sudo eject -i off' ('CD drive may be ejected with device button') I suggest to merge bug #398670 and bug #875543
