Works fine on my Dell Latitude D600 with hardy, since I've installed

Having upgraded to Hardy and switching to the b43 driver took care of
many of these issues for me. Could you please try upgrading your
distribution and letting us know if that fixed your problem?

Thanks for the reply. I am trying to follow the instructions but don't
know enough about using terminal commands to compensate for any
differences between the guide and what I have encountered. I'm already
lost.
Thanks anyway!

Here is a link for you for some instructions that seem to have everything I
did. It's been a while now. You'll need to download the windows driver for
your card and extract it to get the .inf file. I hope that helps.

Hi,
I have Hardy RC (with all updates) running on a Dell D620 and I am also
experiencing very slow wireless connections - speed shows 1Mb/s. I have
also had much better luck with the card in XP Pro - I consistently
connect to the same wireless networks (work and home) at 54Mb/s.

Hi,
I have disabled the bcm43xx driver module and am using ndiswrapper. That
works great with no problems. If you want help doing that I can give you
some instructions if needed.

Hi Mike,
My laptop actually works with 7.10, but the connection is very flaky in that
it stops transmitting for a few minutes and a lot of the time most packets
are dropped. I have disabled the bcm43xx driver module and am using

I have the same problem outline above on 7.10 Gutsy , wireless is so
slow, it is unusable. (the latency is too bad even for just ssh'ing to
my server, etc.)
dmesg reports alot of this:

Hi, I have a BCM4306 on a Compaq Presario R3000 (Gentoo on X86_64).
Everything used to work fine until I upgraded my memory over 1 GB.
(Forcing me to upgrade the kernel to avoid a panic). Now I experience a
lot of packet loss. I hypothesize that my laptop is getting confused

Similar problem. May or may not be the same. Running Gutsy on AMD64
with a WPA2 network with a BCM4318. Not even ping works correctly--
suffers intermittent packet loss at first and then goes to total packet
loss.

I am on a Dell Latitude 620 with running Fiesty Fawn x86_64. I see the
problem described above i.e slow wireless network with fwcutter bcm4311
when connected to a wpa encrypted network. Is there a fix for this as of
now?

I just tried bcm43xx-mac80211 with the same results. Is it possibly a
problem with retaining a specific firmware?

Same here.
But it is unusable. Lots and lots of packet loss and pings take 20k-

to connect twice).

Sure thing. Actually your command produced nothing because apparently with
lspci it's reported as Broadcom and not BCM. Here is the output from lspci
-v that you're looking for. I'm happy to help if you want me to try
anything different.
Thanks,
