I used qtparted only to get the partition /dev name after I found out
(using a Karamba theme) that swapspace was not being used.
I didn't know about update-manager, I will use it next time :)
So do you think the UUID in fstab or the partition changed because I
used apt-get?

why did you use qparted if it was only an upgrade? apt-get dist-upgrade
should not touch your hard disks.I don't see a bug here.
the average user won't need a disk paritioner after installation. I
think it is ok, if it has to be installed separately.
