You
I've just found something that may or may not be related to the bug. Not
sure about it.
My 12.04 is installed aboard a notebook. I've noticed that when suspending,
a message shows up in text screen:
*...(some ids.)... host controller process error. Very bad !*
*...(some ids.)... host controller
That seems like a hardware issue to me, but I've not seen those exact messages
before. I'd ask on a user support forum and get feedback before replacing
hardware or filing a new bug.

It looks like python-crypto is an innocent victim in this case:
Setting up python-crypto (2.4.1-1) ...
/share/info/Octave-FAQ.info.gz (Octave-FAQ.info.gz) in auto mode.
dpkg-query: error: parsing file '/var/lib/dpkg/status' near line 26097 package
'gtk2-engines':
`Depends' field, invalid
I'm attaching /var/lib/dpkg/status as requested.
Please tell me if my system is in danger or unstable due to the error that
was reported, and the procedure to follow so as to fix the situation in
case it's necessary.
Thank you so much.

I don't see the offending text that the error message is complaining
about anymore.
What's the result of:
$ sudo apt-get install python-crypto
if you do it now? Please copy/paste the full console output.
