On my laptop Edgy (knot 3) only boots with the option acpi=off, it's the
same bug as in Dapper with a 686 kernel. A 386 kernel works perfect,
including acpi (fans, temperature, battery, etc.).
With noapic nolapic or with no options the kernel just stops after

attach /etc/apt/sources.list. Could you also please try to run sudo
apt-get update from a terminal before runing gnome-app-install? And
then runing it (gnome-app-install) from a terminal and paste
I haven't tried this on Edgy. The problem was with Hoary; however, I have no
problems printing with the same printer using Dapper. So the problem appeas
to have been resolved in that release, at least - I never installed Breezy.

This is not only an openbsd breezy issue only.
That is :
openbsd 3.9 + ubuntu DAPPER hangs in the same way.
Even some linux distributions behave exactly the same : they hang as soon as
the emulated hard disk was detected.
For example, the latest tinysofa Ceara iso hangs at hard disk detection
