liveCD. maybe the liveCD was connected to that.

I've now spoken to HP who explained that the backlighting level is
stored in memory seperately for the battery and AC states. So each one
needs to be set seperately. Whatever it's set to is then what it returns
to when next in that state.

I have this same problem. Every few seconds apt-index-watch runs and
uses a huge chunk of cpu. This causes problems like stuttering in movie

Patch is, to force Ubuntu use the old version of Gnomebaker. Forcing can
be found be found in some menu of Synaptics. I dont know exact terms,
cause I´m using finnish variant, but with that method I got my system
back to rails.
Markus, you can look at the finnish
gst-python 0.8.4-5 from Debian unstable fails with same error.
