We really could use a fix for this one: it is grabbing 1/4 of the
processing power on our customers application server, and putting load
up to 25. It is effectivly limiting the number of users we can deploy
onto that server to ~20, instead of 30+.

It turns out that the gnome AT startup functionality fails if AT-SPI is
not enables, so the gconf value:
/desktop/gnome/accessibility/startup/exec_ats [onboard]
fails unless you also have:

I'm attaching a patch that fixes this.

AT-SPI is not strictly needed for onboard, but IMO this is the simplest

The agp problem is easily solved. Press control F1 with the bios setup
menu and you will be presented with advanced bios setup features. An AGP
memory size can then be set. In my case 128 MB. Called this an obscured

Hi, I tried booting from today's edgy live cd (daily build 13-Oct 06) on
my 20" iMac G5 RevC and I still have the original problems, i.e. black

Looks like most of the reporters want it fixed/working out of box on
Dapper since it is LTS release. ;-)

That's great news! rdesktop does accept other resolutions when you run
it manually from the console. It should be easy to change that portion
on the source to read xorg.conf and fill the array with those values

I have a proposed fix for this, could somebody who uses cryptsetup try

Edit the init.d script, at the top you'll find some code that looks
like:

After a day of usage, my X server's virtual memory usage grew up to 800
megs. I restarted xcompmgr and it went down to under 200 megs, then

Currently in Edgy, you can disable bluetooth services from ususal services
configuration dialog (System->Administration->Services).
But this can be done only by sudoer or root. (satisfies use case 1 partially)
