I set it as default for my account (not for the entire machine) using
System-Preferences-Preferred_Applications. This causes http:// urls
to be openned by epiphany, but seems not to work for file:///. I don't
think I should be using 'sudo update-alternatives' for this -- it is an

One of the autogen tests fails because it wasn't expect core dumped
when testing Abort output. This solves it. libxml2's fix must be in
the archive before rebuilding autogen.

Don't confuse iMac G5 rev {A,B} and rev C. They have a lot of
difference.
The priors have Powermac 9,1, the third has Powermac12,1. Currently, rev
C has no windfarm modules for their chipset, and radeonfb crashes at

This becomes very useful if you boot into a kernel that is not your
default kernel and then hibernate your machine. Currently if you then
boot your machine back up after the hibernation and allow grub to do its
thing (perhaps you didn't remember what kernel you were in) then it will
fail to

This looks very similar to my problem (see apt.log). The heart of the problem
was with ubuntu-desktop: Depends: xorg and

Video out has been one of the most frustrating issues for me in Linux.
A nice guy for adjusting monitor properties such as resolution, color
depth, and options such as TV out. Ubuntu is fairly easy to use, but I

I have a Macbook Ultimate (as the Apple retail stores call it) and I
haven't had any issues with the heat under Ubuntu Edgy. Could any of
you try a Edgy Beta and see if the problems persist.

I added a few gdm login themes and selected the option to randomly
choose one of them each startup.
The next time I reboot, gdm gives error messages summarized as can't
load the themed login screen; using the plain gdm login screen instead.

I guess the problem was the mouse :)
If i click 'strongly', the link is opened normally.
Now i've installed edgy on my laptop i can confirm that liferea works
fine.

Situation: Being dropped to a shell because of a fschck.
There I say 'reboot' to reboot the machine. Result is that gdm is
started instead of the machine being rebooted.
System: Freshly installed edgy from daily 13/10/2006.

I can confirm jott's observations.
When using cryptsetup on the shell (manually), the password is hidden.
When used via the init script, the passphrase is shown in plaintext!
