I installed Edgy three days ago, and have since probably booted my Lenovo X60s
20 times without any problems.
Today I dualbooted into Win XP and checked for BIOS updates.
I installed the 1.10 BIOS, rebooted, and have now tried four times to boot into
Edgy with the same result each time:

For edgy we now have scim-chewing 0.3.1 and libchewing 0.3.0.
If scim-bridge is installed, we use it for the GTK_IM_MODULE, otherwise
we use xim.
For Qt we use scim as QT_IM_MODUL if scim-qtimm is installed and xim
otherwise.

All resolved here!
Problem with shutdown/restart/suspend was in fact problem with
starting/stopping mysql (boot process didn't finish due to mysql start
problems; it was caused by corrupted mysql files that got bad during
normal boot after hibernation).
So creation of conf.d/resume DID help. I
It isn't a issue on dapper-edgy upgrades. But under rare circumstances
it happend during breezy-dapper.

I'll explain the real situation, so you can understand what happened:
- /mnt/cont is the mountpoint of an ext3 partition
- / is another partition, /home/emi is in this partition.
- /home/emi/Desktop is a symlink to /mnt/cont/linux_home/Desktop

No the link doesn't exist even after configuring it again.

I think I've got it... my /etc/shadow file was owned by root:root, not
root:shadow.

After upgrading from kernel 2.6.15-27-686 to kernel 2.6.17-10-generic
(edgy) my pcmcia fritz card isdn stopped working.
Booting the old 2.6.15 kernel gives still a working isdn configuration!
