I encountered that it was my fault: I messed up the settings in Grip,
with which the flac files were created. First I though maybe Grip does
it wrong by default, but
rm ~/.xine
and
rm ~/.grip
(optional new login)
was the solution for all my problems ;) and showing me, that is was my
fault.
the same occour to me on a dell inspiron 6000, it seems to me that some
volume controls are not tied with master ones, i've to switch to totem
application and move the volume control inside the application, the
master volume does nothing on pcm volume

I guess the error was, that I had uncheck add IDv3 Tags only to files
ending with .mp3 That was the problem. FLAC uses FLAC Vorbis Tags, I
guess. So it's Flac Vorbis Tag vs. IDv3 Tag problem and that xine is

of the vi command. When invoking vim-tiny, the variant of vim installed
by default, using the vi command, it reads /etc/vim/vimrc.tiny, which
sets the compatible mode, so that vi acts like the original vi. The

I'm confirming this, and have updated the description. This only happens
when the file is opened via nautilus. It may be that this is actually a
bug in nautilus, but I do not have enough understanding of what is going
on to tell right now. I will look into this further tomorrow.
** Summary
It is possible that the configuration could be changed to use wget
instead of ftp. I will look into the issue.

Using break=bottom and changing to vesa and commenting out dri and glx did the
job.

It crashes everytime I tried to use the record function. I tested it
under an Machine with Intel onboard soundcard as well as on a machine
with creative sound blaster live. It always crashes

monitor setup, I can drag desktop icons to the other screen, but they
get automatically moved back to the screen they started on when I
