I think 64bit platform needs a simpler way to solve these problems. I
think suse does the exact same thing as chroot but the packages do that
by themselves. There's no need for the user to have knowledge about such
details.

I tested and confirmed that Colin's patch gets the job done. Now with
less breakage!

I'm trying to test this but am having a hard time at the moment getting
it to fail. It was doing so pretty reliably at the time I made the
initial report. Give me a bit--I saw this behavior the other day--and
I'll try to see if it repeats in safe mode with the same messages.

I see this message Program terminated with signal 25, File size limit
exceeded in the crash report. But I get the impression that k3b did
not return this in a more useful way like in a dialog box. Is that
correct? If so could you attach a screenshot of the crash behaviour?
Thanks in advance.
Kristoffer,
Any chance you know how to make it work in Edgy (6.10)?
Thanks in advance and thanks on the heads up.
Regards,
Alex

Thanks for your bug report. What version of Kubuntu are you using?
What version of k3b do you have installed? You can check via 'dpkg -l
k3b' in a terminal. Thanks in advance.
