Hi, I made some more testing. The three-click-to-open and the slowness
when opening happens when using Beryl as window manager. When using
Metacity all is good. So this looks like a Beryl interaction problem.
Again, reproducible 100% of the time in different machines.

I'm using xserver-xorg-video-intel 1.9.94, and on this flat panel wide
screen LCD Ubuntu says its res is set to 1680x1050. My desktop looks
right as far as icon size and everything goes except there are artifacts

Close totem.
Start totem.
Go to Movie - Play Disc foo.

I would like to add that this only occurs when attempting to connect to
wireless networks that have multiple access-points broadcasting the same
ssid. I cannot connect at my schools library which has 10+ wireless aps

I have always had problems with widescreen detection on my Acer laptop
since I first installed Ubuntu on it (I think it was Hoary at the time.)
I believe it is a problem with the Intel video chipset, I've had to use
the 855resolution program to set the correct mode. I can get exact
hardware

Yes it works. I think there must be an option to do this from the
alternate cd pressing f6 and load ahci before ata_piix but I don't know
how

We're all willing to beg if need be...
I'm just beyond being a newbie myself, but I looked into creating .deb
packages to see if I could do it myself and save you guys some time.
From the looks of it I'd take me about 10 hours to do what would
probably take anyone competent (like you guys) 15
I just downloaded the iso last night and haven't had a chance to install
it yet. I'll let you know.

Something similar yet quit different here, ( might be the same problem )
upon attaching my RAID5 array to feisty, all my sata drives (MD)
If /usr/bin/python ponts to the right python version I currently do not
know whats wrong. I suspect python-central and reassign (sounds like Bug
#75557)
