Try changing the recording sample rate in the preferences dialog. Often
the problem is that alsa reports that it is capable of handling a
particular audio rate, but when you actually try to record it doesn't
work.
If none of the available audio rates work, then you might want to
consider testing

Fiesty with KDE 3.5.6. I think I just reproduced it without having to
suspend my computer-- still somewhat randomly that is. But it can still

I can reproduce this on kate 3.5.6-ubuntu02.
I thought the net result was pretty much like #92932. The keyboard input
is suddenly suspended, and both were triggered by keyboard (for me at
least). The two might be related.

I have an alternative workaround.
I just installed 7.04 on a notebook with only 800x600 resolution. I simply
pressed tab until my cursor focus reappeared then shift-tabbed back to the last
button (usually Next or OK) and pressed space or enter. I could easily use my
mouse to select my time

And I do know why. The DEB file has an error in dependency:
Depends: netbase, netkit-inetd | inetd, update-inetd, vmware-server-
kernel-modules...
it should probably read something like
Depends: netbase, netkit-inetd | inetd, update-inetd | xinetd, vmware-
server-kernel-modules...

Also, explain your hd structure. You have sda, sdb, and volume? What
are those devices and what's on them.
I'm no genius, but maybe I can help (whilst we wait for a techie to look

work well.
it using the wrong resolution which is not same as specified in the
xorg.conf, not 1280x1024, etc, also the xwindow will be restart when I
try to change the resolution, because the resolution is incorrect,
