I think the culprit is the feed reader extension. I deactivated it and
it seems to work now. I'm not 110% sure it really was that one.

Exactly my point Oliver. This is why I am requesting that this bug be taken
seriously. It is one of the reasons why I contemplated going back to
Windows. The Windows Cisco client has a simpler interface, and with just one
option, one could either have the normal internet traffic continued or shut

Same here with the Gutsy Tribe 3 updated version of OOo. I just reread
the original description though and it's not the same for me, my buttons
fail to redraw after the highlighting applied as the mouse rolls-over,
no grey fields here.

Stephan is right, Wine seems to imitate Windows (the OS) even in the
release progression right now: when you finally reach beta status, start
