I think that this bug should be solved quickly. All the proposed workarounds do
not work.
make-ssl-cert lacks of a -days option. Hence, it issues a certificate for only
one month.
I don't want to chage my servers certificates every month!

Whatever Amarok does with files when it's updating/rescanning the
collection is too intensive for slow(ish) network links.
I don't know if it reads (transfers) the entire file to get a hash of it
or something like that, but it takes

networkmanager will not scan/manage interfaces that are marked as
roaming in gnome network administration. Can you please confirm that
your device is marked for roaming when you don't see the essids?
