Well, zypres, at least your comment made me find a work around that works for
me:
It's sufficient to open the web shortcuts preferences panel of Konqueror, and
select something different from strigi as the default shortcut.
I've put google there, as I think it is the KDE default.

In previous versions of Ubuntu I could use Beryl/Compiz only with XGL
with my Radeon 9550. Yesterday I installed official ATi 8.42.3 driver
and now I can work with Compiz without XGL ( with AIGLX). Sadly
performance is very poor - worst than with Ubuntu 7.04 with Ati
restricted driver on XGL.

I certainly got the impression from Martin Pitt's comment that the
update had been made live, however I originally installed it by
selecting "Proposed Updates" in Adept Manager, upgrading all of the
Adept-related packages, and then de-selecting the proposed updates.

adept manager -> "Adept" menu -> manage repositories -> "updates" tab
There I choose "pre-release updates" and "unsupported updates" closed again and
did "fetch updates". I actually see "gutsy-proposed/universe" (and also main,

In AMD64 on Ubuntu Gusty, qemu does not seem to have kqemu support
compiled in. When trying to use the kqemu arguments, qemu complains that
it is an invalid option. When issuing the 'info kqemu' command on the

Gpodder 0.9.4 is broken beyond usable for me.
Open the Preferences-Dialog, select the Download Tab and press the
"Close"-Button. This will cause it to use 100% CPU leaving gpodder and
the Dialog open until you kill it hard.

If an inotify watch isn't used, it uses no memory. So simply increasing
the limit has no overhead on the system.
It's only when they're used that they actually consume kernel memory. I
don't know exactly how much is used, but I believe there's no additional
overhead other than the inotify struct
