i too have a somewhat slow bootup time; nothing to the severity of many
minutes, but still, a significant increase when compared to feisty.

Basically, 2 icons are there from startup when there's a disk in the
drive. If you eject either one, the same one remains, still pointing to
/media/cdrom0. You cannot eject it, because it is not mounted - which is
a tad annoying.

Cesare, in the bug you're referencing, vmware-player 1.0.0 is removed
because there's a newer 2.0 version.
The package is also outdated as there is a new major version (2.0)
provided by VMware. (sic)

On (K)ubuntu 7.10 a UEVENT is not generated by the kernel when a PCMCIA
PC card is removed from the system:
$ sudo udevmonitor
udevmonitor will print the received events for:
UDEV the event which udev sends out after rule processing

I can confirm this bug/suggestion. As a 27 year old dutch i don't think
i have ever seen a dutch keyboard. I think it will be hard to buy one in
