Hello everyone.
I have a Tecra A4 PTA42E with Bios 1.10 (no new bios is available) and
with an integrated ATI X700 (my guess is that Greg has a PTA40 that is
slight different).
With Ubuntu 7.10 final, running as a LiveCD I have the following
results.
I'm using the following boot paramaters:

Steps to reproduce:
When install using the alternate CD, the installer cannot detect the
network interfaces. An error message shown: No network interfaces
detected.
I selected continue, and the system can be installed.

The brightness problem is just gnome trying to be smart. Before the patch
it had no control over the brightness, but not that it has control, well
mostly, it does crazy stuff. I actually had the same problem in reverse.
Whenever I unplugged my laptop it would dim the screen no matter what

Same problem here.
I have gutsy running compiz on an Nvidia 7600GT card, with the latest 169.7
driver.
Mouse works, but the rest of the system appears to be frozen. If i press
the power button (I have it preset to shutdown) the system will start a
normal shutdown. So that proves the whole
I want to note that the newest versions of radeon and radeonhd will run
on this card after ubuntu is installed. I do not know if they work from
the livecd, the livecd seems to be a special case.
