If I continue it just after it loads the debugging symbols but not after
I click the OK button on the error, it doesn't crash immediately. It
does crash as soon as gdb detaches though. I guess gdb is catching it.

When the card is not inserted at boot,
lspci shows no card readers at all (my netbook has two slightly
different ones)
if the card is in at least one of the card readers prior to boot, both
show up in lspci.

I have a fixed package in my PPA that I've tested and found that it
fixes the problem. However, I'd like this to actually get this into
Hardy (it being the LTS), but I'm unsure of how to do this. Can I

In my case, I fixed this by deleting /all/ my sqlite files (find -name
*sql* -delete from the profile directory). Interestingly, this
resulted in no noticeable changes to my profile, possibly because it is
mostly migrated from Firefox 2.
