So my machine with intel chipset G45 (motherboard is Gigabyte GA-EG45M-

I'm on the same page as greggler. This bug makes my HP laptop
completely unusable after performing an upgrade from 8.04. I have a

Hi,
This appears to have been fixed in Debian, and hence ended up in
Ubuntu. Is that correct?

Suspend to RAM worked in Hardy out of the box.
It does not work in beta Interpid.
echo mem /sys/power/state - this works only one time. Awakening is
bad.
/etc/acpi/sleep.sh - suspends, but after awakening there is only black
screen and cursor.

OOO-Impress crashes upon viewing notes
For your ATI/Compiz bug I'd report a new one, or try to find someone else
that's already reported it.
I can say that Intrepid does have a lot of bug fixes from hardy, so yes, some
will magically disappear, some may remain, and those you need to report so that
the developers can fix them.
