Hello, I have the same problem. The xserver is crashing every 10 minutes
or less. I run Ubuntu Intrepid. This is the log from xorg.log

I have upgraded my ubuntu, from 8.04 to 8.10. Before the upgrade both of my
printer ( Epson Stylus Photo 950 and Samsung SCX-4521F) work correctly.
After the update,when i try to print with the epson i observe that my work is
not in process..
The work make about 5 or 6
After trying loads of things for a day, the following (based on mpitch's
code above) worked for my Toshiba Tecra M1 with Trident XP4m32 graphics
(1024x768, 60Hz LCD screen). My problem was that i could not get the
option to choose a screen resolution higher than 800x600 (a common

i experience this crash while switching from external to notebook screen using
xrandr. there is just
gdm[6844]: WARNING: gdm_slave_xioerror_handler: Fatal X error - Restarting :0
in syslog and i didn't find any error or backtrace in the Xorg.0.log.

Hi. I also get this message in the log (intrepid, kernel 2.6.27-9-generic). As
I have problems with my usb-devices I would like to know what the message
legacy support in use means? Does it mean that using only 32-bit capabilities
won't affect legacy support?

Gufw is a GUI for ufw, ufw is a frontend for iptables. Then if you has closed
Gufw, the iptables is configured in other case.
It isn't necesary open Gufw for has deny/allow the firewall.
I recomend you that uninstall iptables, ufw and gufw, and reinstall again.

loaded before ehci (usb 2.0 support):
