the finger scanner, i do it, gdm segfaults and restart.
Frequency : it does not happen every time, sometimes it works at the
first try, sometime it crash (segfault) and i do it again and it works.

With 2.6.28 series kernel I found Warning! ehci_hcd should always be
loaded before uhci_hcd and ohci_hcd, not after in output of `dmesg` so
I rmmoded all *_hcd modules and modprobed them in correct order. So far

Hi,
I can confirm that with 8.10 on my Asus F3Sa laptop some multimedia keys
stopped working.
Some do, some don't.
E.g. the media-stop button now is recognized as VolumeDown - even though
the normal volume buttons work correctly.
With 8.04 everything was fine.

I have no gconf key system/storage/drives/ because I have never changed mount
point of any of drives. But I also have this problem, when I insert ANY usb

Still getting this problem occasionally. The method of removing the
index files in post #6 works for me, though with a long startup time for
evolution after doing it while the index files are reinstated.

I would also appreciate a disconnect option in the left-click menu of
the applet. It's not always wanted to be connect to both wired and

I can confirm this bug on a Fujitsu Siemens Amilo PA1510 laptop.
Whenever pressing Fn+F5 or Fn+F6 for changing volume, the system freezes as
described by almatt.
I checked the keybindings and they are ok (XF86AudioRaiseVolume and
XF86AudioLowerVolume). Also checked
I've acpi-support 0.109-0hardy2. There's one remaining issue that I'll
point out in case others come searching. One of my drives has a -B of
64 by default. This is from `hdparm -I' having gone from power-up to
single-user mode.

so the issue is keypad not working? You could've just said that when
opening the bug. Reconfiguring the display manager has nothing to do
with it. Please attach your /var/log/Xorg.0.log from jaunty alpha3.
