I have a 4GB RAM 32-bit system.
I remastered a Ubuntu 9.10 32-bit Live DVD with PAE Kernel. I replaced
all generic to generic-pae. However, the Live DVD boot up but the
mouse does not work.

I am having a similar problem with the desktop edition. It appears to
lock up when the monitor is put to sleep by power management after
inactivity. I am forced to reboot using alt+sysreq REISUB. My current
solution has been to disable the monitor sleep feature and that has

The Master is set to 0 and Front to 20 after system restart. That said,
`service alsa-utils restart' does not reset the levels--it keeps the
correct values.

I tried the kernel downgrade in Karmic; made no change to the 3G modem
