I'm using the stable version of linuxwacom (0.8.4-3) compiled with
src/util/wacomcfg.c from linuxwacom-dev and it's working fine for xsetwacom.
However, wacomcpl still doesn't deal with spaced names, so I wrote a patch for
wacomcpl-exec to fix it.

After thinking this bug wasn't fixed in karmic (tested with a system upgraded
from jaunty and with the live cd), the problem suddenly seems to be solved
(same system, no fresh install!) (no drop outs since 3 days, the download rates

unable to replicate the behaviour you described. Did you have message

It may be because the server config was missing VNET_DNS parameter :
