Confirmed here - and the option to enter the cursor theme in the compiz
settings is now removed.
I can set the Obsidian cursor theme and it works perfectly under
Metacity.
With compiz, the effects are rather fragmented - initially, the cursor
doesn't appear. Switching to metacity gives perfect

Hi Martin,
the HAL scanner code doesn't correctly initialize the HAL context it
uses. This causes the libchipcard HAL scanner to not fail if the HAL
daemon isn't running. This in turn causes ugly error messages like those
reported in the following two bug reports:
The workaround in comment #18 does *not* work anymore since Karmic. Even
the console config does not honor the settings in /etc/default/console-
data anymore.
I've found a new permanent workaround, but this time it has to be
configured per account, instead of system-wise.

To make matters even more confusing, when I add a new user with an
existing uid, it doesn't get added, but its usergroup does get added, so
the next time I'd try to add the user, the tool will report an error.

I had the same problem. Samsung has released a firmware upgrade for
N110. I upgraded and now it works seamlessly. The problem is you need to
have windows installed as well to do the upgrade, since it comes as an
exe file. I wouldn't try to run it from wine, as this may mess up the
bios.

What about using the event driven upstart mechanisms within initramfs,
too? (LP: #491463)
(We need somthing that can handle any hotplugging sequence and stacking

While on battery power, I'm observing that screen brightness misbehaves.
The machine is an ASUS 1000HA.
I manually push the brightness down all the way using Fn-F5. I am

Why is this bug assigned to affecting pulseaudio if a restart of
Firefox cures the symptom? Are you using non-Free plugins? Is this
symptom reproducible with chromium-browser (from PPA) and/or
epiphany-browser?
