Nvidia-glx 185 (in lucid repos) does provide xserver-xorg-video-5;
Xserver-xorg-core 1.7 (in lucid repos) is in conflict with the very same

If I try to print (or view print preview) instead of the image I have
selected, I get the image missing icon instead (it looks like it's

I've reinstalled Ubuntu 9.10 from scratch (CD), updated up-front and

I am unable to see the log in screen by booting normally. I am getting
the scree only when I boot using the hard disk after coming through the
installation menu in the Live CD. It is very puzzling for me. Every time
I have to log in to my computer I must have the live CD in

- New proposed kernel works fine for me running Karmic on Dell Inspiron 2650.
- Boot is ok. Acpi is working again.

I think the problem is GTK because other gnome text editors have the same
problem.
KDE text editors like Kwrite in Ubuntu 9.10 are OK.

It looks as if I have the same problem. Lucid Lynx worked fine up to kernel
upgrade 2.6.32-6 and only low resolution with 2.6.32-7.
Reinstall older CD (kernel 2.6.32-4) gives the normal resolution for my system
and identical to the one for Karmic Koala.
With a more recent CD again only low

suspend/resume. In my case the solution was changing from wap security
