Confirm, too, on Kubuntu. I use a Treo680. Since Karmic it crashed
constantly while attached to usb port. Uninstalling modemmanager and

It's possible to compile against xulrunner-1.9.1, but there is no stable
symlink to that package (1.9.1), so that when the the lib is updated via
apt (eg from 1.9.1.5 to 1.9.1.6) all the programs compiled against it
break (just happened with my couchdb installation).

4. copy recorded irrecord.out to /etc/lirc/lircd.conf

My conclusion is that you need a valid lircd

When I start ubuntu (9.10) with kernel 2.6-16 19 times out of 20 it will
hang on the logo screen. If I use the 2.6-14 kernel is starts with no
problem. Also if I start 2.6-16 in recovery mode and do a startx it
starts up fine. This is a fresh installation on a dell studio 15

Just reporting that I had similar issue...
I upgraded (with a clean install) from 8.04 to 9.10 last week... the
first 2 days my webcam (OV2640 on Dell Inspiron 1720) worked fine with
Skype and for no apparent reason it just stopped working. Skype would
place a grey box where my camera view should

In Karmic, I can confirm that the -m Platform script does not die after
3 minutes, consuming 10MB until reboot. I'll give a look at this
problem.
Though, you mention in the description that there's a 90MB usage on
first launch. I guess this comes from the package installation, isn't
it? If that
