I have tested nexiuz, and although I haven't used it before, I couldn't
identify anything wrong with rendering. I also didn't get any error
messages in dmesg output. The performance was pretty bad (I guess 5 fps
at 1024x768, don't know how to get the exact number), but at least the

A (presumably) ALPS touchpad on my HP dm-1 isn't detected either (also
on Karmic). It shows up as an ImPS/2 wheel mouse. It really, really
needs to have its sensitivity adjusted, so a solution to this would be

should be a small usability issue, in the default Ubuntu install, that
affects many people and is quick and easy to fix. So this bug can't be

This error is likely due to no space left on device or a corrupted file system.
Please check your free space. If there's enough free space, start the Memory
check from the boot menu. If that runs successfully, please start the rescue
system in the boot menu and select
Still not? I've rarely experienced so long periods of failure.
The .crash file was removed because it's of no use to developers until
Launchpad processes it, which is best done by sending a new report. Of
course, only when that works... Hope it comes back soon.

Are you sure you're not hitting the GNOME power management blank screen
timeout?
Open System/Preferences/Power Management, and take a look at the Put
display to sleep when inactive for settings on the AC Power and the On
Battery Power tabs.
This is different than the gnome-screensaver timeout.
I see from your BootDmesg.txt file:
