Are there any challenges we should be aware of when syncing packages of
the same name which are actually quite different?
I see no problem in changing the way of packaging. There are many new
tools that make packaging easier and simpler. You only have to take care
that no required Ubuntu change
To add to this, the recent kernel update (I assume?) for 9.10 broke it
again for my D300. It is seen as present as an MTP device, but now it
only works if I connect with the XP VM first, then F-spot is OK. I am
not sure if the camera appears on the desktop (i.e. mounted) but will do
some more

browser plugin or natively in Totem. I haven't fiddled with any of the

Ok, so I'm troubleshooting from a daily Lucid LiveCD from 31th of
january:
Step 2: Same as before, i.e. no events for Fn+F4-6 but all the other
Fn+Fx works
Step 4: When running /lib/udev/findkeyboards nothing was returned. I instead
checked /dev/input/by-id and found this:

Disabling the floppy drive controller in the BIOS (as I have no floppy
drive) fixed this issue for me.

Made a little bit of debugging and finally thumbnailer works again.
The problem was /usr/lib/libnspr4.so. After moving it into another location and
doing ldconfig, gnome-web-photo started working again.
libnsp4 is Netscape Portable Runtime library which is needed by many
