I can confirm this bug, although I don't use language-pack-gnome-zh-hans
but language-pack-gnome-fr.
So everything is in french, including «Système», «Préférences» and
«Administration».
But everything inside these 2 menus is in english (About me, Appearance,…

Since I scrapped Ubuntu from (and installed Mandriva on) my laptop I am
no more able to provide more info reproduce the bug.

Oops, I really mean standard one, sorry.
Anyway, here is a one-liner that will fix your gnome menu so you can
edit those wine (and possibly other) broken .desktop files. It collapses
all the sub-directories, renaming them with the same flat scheme
alacarte would use and removing the originals.

I use a Huawei E172 3G USB dongle for my internet connection (on
Vodafone).
If the Vodafone 3G signal drops out for a moment (which in the real
world it often does), and then the signal reappears a monent later,
network-manager does not

I included Tilda in my startup applications. After a fresh system start
tilda can be opened with F12 (custom setting). However, despite its
configuration, the appearing window does not provide true transparency.

Pretty sure this is going to be nvidia related
Does this happen if you run `metacity --replace ` then run `compiz `
once that is loaded? If it's the nvidia issue I'm thinking of it'll seem
like metacity crashed because it's actually compiz crashing inside the
nvidia driver on exit.

I'm certain that the second set of logs were from after the freeze. I
tried to log in and observed the freeze, then I started up again and
without logging in the normal way got to a text terminal and copied the
logs to my /home. Then I booted with the installation disk, mounted the
hard drive

I'm not sure if my initial problem was a duplicate of #516412, but what I'm
experiencing now, after the reinstallation, surely is.
Removing plymouth solved my problem.
