I too have to login twice to lucid alpha 3 before it goes to desktop. As
far as I can remember, it only happened after installing the nvidia 190
drivers.

I deleted my preferences and this problem was fixed. Kind of an annoying
way to fix it, but relatively painless. I disabled all my extensions
first, one by one, to see if this was the cause, too. No joy.

So if I search on Amazon, magnatune, jamendo or 7digital themselves for
guns 'n' roses november rain (for example) I get a break down of the
group, the track and all at the top of their lists.

If you can from after reproducing this issue (or /var/log/Xorg.0.log.old after
reboot).
You could do that after run Ubuntu in safe mode.

there are wine and dosbox, you should try these. furthermore this is not
really a technical bug report suitable for a bug tracker but more of a
wish to improve ubuntu. these are tracked on brainstorm at
