Ok, I used the current Maverick 2.6.35-rc1 kernel's
config-2.6.35-1-generic and finished audited everything again after a
couple of hours.
A number of config options are still needed for optimal hardware
support, and since they should be added as modular where possible, there
is by no impact:
I'm unable to remove the 'needs-upstream-testing' tag, as the pencil
icon isn't visible, only the help icon at the bottom of the first

I mentioned in a previous entry (#43), my HP desktop needed a check-up by my
hardware consultant due to the many hard resets.
Currently, the machine runs on its original OS Windows Vista without any
problem and without any replacements needed. Discussing the issue with this
consultant and
Power management settings dialog says to blank screen after 30 minutes
when on AC power, so I think that's where the 30 minutes comes from.
I have opened a new bug 591699 with more details and the exact steps to
reproduce (this time using i386 instead of amd64, with same results).

That's exacly what I did. The kernel r8169 driver seldomly worked *at
all* so I compiled the driver from source. I had to donwload the latest
sources from realtek because the source code included with the card
didn't compile on lucid.
I got the card to work, but only at speed
Using the mentioned workarounds lets me update the kernel, but the next
reboot fails. See the attached screenshot.
Tobias, is there a reason you changed initrd.gz? Changing *only* the
/vmlinuz link worked for me:
sudo rm /vmlinuz
sudo ln -s /cdrom/casper/vmlinuz /vmlinuz

Hi,
Polkitd was using high CPU and memory.
Lot of lines related to pulseaudio in syslog, see attachment.
I deleted the file ~/.esd_auth and polkitd is now normal. New file is
created using my user and my group, the old one was belonging to
root:root, but I don't know why...

evolution-exchange-storage crashes when trying to access MS exchange calendar
Rhythmbox is showing to me the same message, but tags does create.
Attached you'll find a log taken when creating the tag for a song of

Is this committed into the 1.2.1 client in Lucid? I see it was
committed before 1.2.1 was released (19.04) but I can't find any
configuration files in the local configuration directory. If it is
already in the code shipping with Lucid, can you tell me where this
