However I have just checked the source code and indeed the issue appears
to be fixed in openjdk-7 build b100, although I cannot test it. I also
checked the openjdk-6 build b20 (as lucid is using the build b18) and it
was not fixed yet.

Come on Canonical, what's with all the user's want this and user's want
that? _I_ am a user, as are others here, and this hard depends on
plymouth is causing me problems right now. If it's not required (and
it's not) then it's not a Depends. This is a bug, plain and simple.

For maverick the -virtual kernel is generated directly in its own right
so this cannot occur there, will close for development.
Looking at the lucid meta packages for the linux-image-virtual, we seem
to be linking to the right linux binary image package:

I think that those two points should already be explained in the bug's
text (yes, it is reproducible and with the steps explained there)... is
there anything else that I should specifically add?
