I have also a MC8780 Umts card. It works under windows like a charm and
under ubuntu it works too, but not with modemmanager/network manager.

I can see you have a package from the Cutting Edge Multimedia PPA installed
(vdpau-video).
Also, VLC_1.1.1-1exp1ubuntu1 does not need the package libvdpau1.
For correct operation of this VLC you also need the FFMPEG packages from the
maverick repos (v. 4:0.6-2ubuntu2).

I'm fully up to date here and the problem is the same. system-config-
printer as mentioned here http://www.mail-archive.com/maverick-
chan...@lists.ubuntu.com/msg03877.html is not installed. In fact the
package is not available.

@jpangamarca, The first attempt to get a backtrace did not work well.
Gnome-panel has a very long list of dependencies though, and I only
installed the debug symbols for gnome-panel itself. The effect that I
got was that when the problem occurred the gnome debugger seemed to make
the problem worse
this is the final answer? no Arabic language when a user reach for
Arabic language support from language selector?
is it possible to make this change for Arabic, Farsi, Urdu only? as
Hebrew person seems to disagree?

I meant no RTL language support in terminal , even no choice to chose
it? I know Ubuntu want to make things easier and simpler and language
selector is a thing to prove it or some one could argue that any one can
download translation, writing system, fonts from Universe.

shows 1000mbit.
