Latest X server only works with the nvidia driver if the ignoreABI is
turned on in the xorg configuration file. Unfortunately this option is
not set by the nvidia-xconfig script.
The auto generated xorg file should have something like this:

It might be that your card is PRO HG inside and might not be supported by
