* the workaround with suspend mode does not work anymore (probable a kernel
update some weeks ago.)
* disable pulseaudio and play to /dev/dsp - hiccups after a minute or so.

I think I'm seeing this or a similar bug on my lucid VM (on a lucid
host), too. (2.6.32-24-server Kernel)
Is there a workaround? Does it help, e.g., to switch from virtio to some
other network device?

My Toshiba A300 notebook with Ubuntu 10.04 suffers the same symptoms.
