Explanation of the Ubuntu delta and why it can be dropped:
The only ubuntu change (potfile generation) has been included in Debian.

Entering the Unicode with 'Ctrl+U 20b9' [1] fails with the message
'Non-printable character'.
Appending via 'Text Glyphs…' dialog (Range: Currency Symbols) also works
(besides pasting).

Has anyone found an acceptable workaround for this issue? The workaround
in comment #2 DID NOT work for me, simply centered the image between the
monitors.

Dual Monitor wallpaper is not scaling across both monitors, same background is
repeated on both monitors instead
Um...I just installed ThunderBrowse and never tried Thunderbird without it.

Even when the theme has been changed to another one and the panel is
once corrected, items may still disappear from the panel. For example,
the shutdown item disappears quite often from my panel after I have
used the computer for a while.

This issue was fixed.
It had something to do with the fact that I have a RAID 1 array with a
MBR on it (because I treat the raw array as a raw drive for a VirtualBox
VM I'm running on the machine).
In the next version of Ubuntu immediately following this one, HAL was
able to deal with this
