I have a similar motherboard (M2NPV-MX) with the same chipset and it

Just updated from 9.04 to 9.10 without problem then from 9.10 to 10.04
and had the same error.
I tried this fix (update the etc fstab file from the livecd, on the mounted the
disk) but it didnt work for me.

Ah, well, spoke too soon - looks like, if the volume is not mounted as
removable media (disk), that the crash does not occur.

I made a series of experiments and found out the following:
1) using pm-suspend I could safely suspend the T400 from text console
(ctrl-alt-f1) every single time on stock kernel (even if gdm was running on X
session at the same time)
2) the same pm-suspend would freeze the laptop randomly if
I have 10.10 with all update. And this process take ±98~100% CPU on a
Atom n450 with 1g ram (Acer Aspire One),. that make other apps non
responsive and very slow.

I had a look into the BIOS settings but sadly there is no possibility to
deactivate the ATA interface / device.
In any case, this does not really look like a bug then? Do you know of a

Trying to change the system time needs autorization. The polkit-grant-
helper will go to sleep/donothing after inserting the password. Using

In the Phone scan dialog, it apparently scans fine, finds my devices and writes
Bluetooth device scan completed, yet when I try to go Next, Back or exit, it
gives an error dialog which says Phone search is still active, you can not
