I uninstall nfs-kernel-server and nfs-common packages and after
reinstall again the packages successfully installed. But the
/etc/init.d/nfs-common file does not exist.

I had similar problems upgrading wicd during the 10.04 to 10.10 upgrade,
related to a previous user who had been deleted. As reported by
alcarola, re-adding the old user is a workaround.

10.04 using either oss or alsa. and on 32 bit OS also.

I have tried the Cairo patch on the Cairo package of current Natty
(1.10.0). It does not work there unfortunately. It is too different to
Cairo version it was created on. So can someone more knowledgeable about

since i made a new install on a new disk partiton ( sda8 ) my system i powerd
off randomized ). what you can see in my
log files ( /var/log/* ) is that there you can find mostely at usb reset.
but my previouse installation is on an internal disk.

I'm running a fresh install of Maverick and encountering the same
problem using a Lenovo X61 tablet. When I have the computer on the
docking station with the lid closed, the external monitor will never
sleep.
I did some troubleshooting and the problem stems from the fact that GPM
ignores state
