The update didn't wipe prefs.js though. The package manager doesn't
touch any profile data at all

Ah, weather-indicator seems perfect (though not in the archive afaics).
I don't care one way or another if it is in the clock (does seem a
rather odd place, unless you look at the definition of 'local' a bit
sideways) so long as I can get the weather somehow. :)

I cant remember actually what I did before the /etc/maicap gets corrupted, as I
recall when I open filezilla a pop-up show line 228: incomplete entry
ignored. It only showed in filezilla, before using it. So I have attached
/etc/mailcap.

happens to have '/' character in the JAVA_OPTS, and I guess it is not
that rare. Postinstall should escape those strings before it puts them
to sed command line. I'm not sed expert, but it could be done with

The reason why I posted to ubuntu/launchpad, is that I don't expect the
upstream to really care about this enough to release a new version in a
timely manner, as its not something that directly causes crashes or a
security leak, it just causes a big performance drop for some
applications. I
